I have a Toshiba Satellite pro e200 and am getting a, \windows\system32\config\system error message when I turn the computer on.
- The CMOS clock and date is correct so its not the battery.
- Have tried all the safe modes on the f8 menu but none of them work.
- When I try to repair or install xp (Xp was the existing OS) it tells me it cant sense a HDD.
- On the F3 menu it can see and identify the HDD.

Anyody have any advice?

Can you boot into windows at all? What is the complete error message?
Have you tried setting the BIOS back to default settings?
