uninstalled "Twister & Utiltities"
b/c I thougth it was just another program I'd picked up somewhere.
Now, my computer is acting like it has a mind of its own.
The bottom taskbar has vanished, even though I've checked the settings and they haven't changed.
I've tried to system restore a number of times, and it continues to fail.
Any suggestions?

Follow the instructions in the 5 step link above. The security team will take over.
The funny thing is, i am running an avast scan right now, trying to get rid of twister on a unit. Security team hopefully will help.
Twister/utilites are part of compaqs display adapter. Try a system restore out of your accessories.
