I have a 4 meg file 'rn_tmpsb.ivr' (recorded from NASA) which absolutely refuses to delete. When I call it up on Real Player, I am informed 'a general error has occurred'. The file doesn't interfere with anything, it is simply a nuisance which refuses to go away.

Any suggestions?

Couple of fun schemes.....

First off, there is the favourite..... Fire it up in safe mode and see if you can delete it then.

If not, the method I use is to switch off "Hide extensions for known file types"....
Then, I fire up the old favourite, "Notepad".
Create a file, and - in your case, name it "rn_tmpsb.ivr"

Then overwrite the original with the notepad file you've just created.

After which, you should be able to delete it......

There we go!

Often works on files that have been corrupted and cannot be deleted.

This may not work, but then - it is a useful trick that I find handy!!!
