Hi there, I have been tring for a while now to correct a problem I am having with my network. I am able to ping sites (note that all 4 pings do not always connect) and DNS does not seem to be the problem as IP's are resolved to urls. When using IE it seems to connect and fined the site then it hangs (website found, waiting for reply...). I can not connect to my local network. I can't even connect to my router with this PC, but have no problems fwith any other PC connect to the same router. Any ideas anybody?

Any help would be appreciated.
TIA
Wayle

Try resetting your network connections by re-creating them from scratch, making sure everything is correct.
I have uninstalled NIC and reinstalled

I have also gone thru the network connection wizard and still the same problem. I am able to get a IP address from my router.
Has your computer got the same IP address as another on your network??

Start; Run type cmd once the new window opens, type ipconfig /release (note the space) and press enter. Then once thats completed type ipconfig /renew and press enter.
No it does not

Have three PC's connected and all three have different IP.
Try the commands above and report back the result.
A little slow but IP renewed with same IP.

Released and renewed with no problems other than slow. Still unable to open web site (Waiting for http://www.google.com/...) this displays for a long time be fore receiving error that page can not be displayed.
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
