I am running Win XP and have encountered an odd problem. Firstly my setup is I run 3 screens 1 off the inbuilt graphics card, a Radeon 4250, and the other 2 on a Radeon 5700 card. Have been doing this for years with no issues.

Today when opening Firefox I was unable to stretch it across 2 screens as this is my normal method, as I have the bookmarks on the LH screen and the main body in the centre screen. I thought that this may be Firefox related but then noticed that also unable to resize or move to another screen any other program’s windows EG I run Outlook Express on the RH screen along with an open Excel workbook and my daily organizer. I often resize/move these. The LH screen also has a clock and Speedfan monitoring temps.

If something like this happens and unable to fix quickly I will restore from an earlier good known image, in this case one I made about 6 months ago that was working perfectly – I use Macrium to make these images.. I have several partitions with basically just the OS on C and programs and data on D and the other partitions are for photos, games etc. This way I keep the partition sizes small and separate. I have just done a full scan for viruses etc but it came with zero problems,

When I restored the image I am having the same problems any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention I do not use Restore as the image restoration method has always worked flawlessly for me if I have had an issue with something the past so I have it turned off.

Thanks will try that later today - but may not be necessary

I gave this a bit more thought and it just did not make sense to me as replacing the image of the C drive the restored C drive, previous good known version, should not have the same issues unless coming from somewhere else. Coincidentally I had noticed problems with Firefox, which I is installed on the D drive, and it occurred to me that it may be a Firefox related problem so I updated to the latest version and it appears to have resolved the problem!
