Unable to get along with Radeon 128 Pro

Hi there.

I have dual boot OS Win98 and WinXP with hardware system info as 256 SDRAM, 1800+ XP Processor, and 200-233 FSB supporting motherboard from Gigabyte. I also have a Rage 128 Pro Video Graphic card with 23MB ram built by Gigabyte and gets attached in AGP slot. Motherboard is 7ZMMH from Gigabyte.

I try to play all the latest games including Splinter Cell, Hitman2, Enter The Matrix, NWO, Vietcong, etc. but I am having problems in all of these games as they crash down back to desktop. I have repeatedly formatted and installed Win98 to remove bugs but the result is the same. This thing happens on all games as soon as I double click icons, a blank screen comes up and I am thinking the game is about to start but crashes to desktop. I have checked with my Vendor and he showed me playing Hitman2 and Enter The Matrix without any problems on a Celeron based system at 1.1GHz leaving me in disgust. I do not have any other problems, like programs crashing or any other memory problems or anything else cuz I also work with php scripting and mysql on XP leaving Win98 to suffer the blasts of virtual reality.

Today I have checked one thing and found out that, in XP with SP1, it installs Microsoft digitally signed drivers that come with XP for the graphic card and I have played Hitman2 without any problems with a bit slower result on Windows XP.

Can this be problem due to drivers came with box CD? using 'dxdiag' command doesn't give me any errors in testing DirectDraw or Direct3D except that the drivers aren't digitally signed in Win98.

any help or suggestions on this will be greatly appreciated.

rage 128 pro

your 'Rage 128 Pro' has no chance of running Enter the Matrix or Splinter cell. Try upgrading to a Radeon 9000 or higher. Hitman 2 doesn't need as much power so stop watching your computer crash back to the screen and go out and buy a new card....with lotsa grunt:bandit:
