When I try to download programes such as C Cleaner or Google talk the system just would not download after the download windows appear and then vanish. Kindly help.

What browser are you using? If you use Firefox, the downloads go to the My Documents/Downloads folder. You can change your default download location in FF by going to Tools/Options/Downloads.
