unable to connect to DHCP server

I got a new desktop loaded with Microsoft Vista.

When I couldn't connect to my router (at home) I tried ipconfig /renew /reliease commands and got the following message:

"Unable to contact your DHCP server".

I brought my PC to work and it connected fine to the network there.

At home I use the modem/router provided by Verizon (FIOS). I tried several ethernet cables - so I am pretty sure it is not the cable.

BTW, other pc's at home are connected to the router, so the router is OK.

Any help is appreciated.

Check the setting on your Router which served as your DHCP as well. Make sure that the Router provides enough IP addresses for your home network.
