Hello all, i am thinking that i am either getting some interference or something is wrong with my router. I just set up my new desktop with a dlink n extreme PCI card and its only about 50FT and up one floor from the router and when doing downloading it slows to around 50k/sec. but when i have it right next to the router or anywhere else in the house it downloads at around 400k/sec. The room im in is over the garage and next to the laundry room. is there anyway that this is causing interference or is there something wrong somewhere?
The router is a Dlink 655 N router.

Thanks for the help~Baird

with it been wireless, there is always some interference. Wireless will also loose its signal strenght as it travels. It seems that this is normal in your case the signal its just Deteriorating.

If you are concerned about interference you can download a tool like netstumbler and check for other wireless connection around your house. Then you can change the channel of your wireless router to one that is not uses.

Best to use 1 or 6 or 11 channel for optimised performance.
