Ok, so when i was installing windows after formatting my HD, the installation got stuck at 31% or something and didn't move from there. I had to create a new installation directory for it (C:\WINDOWS2) and that is what my pc is currently running on..

What my question is - Can I Delete (C:\WINDOWS) Safely by just pressing the button or will i need a special program, OR will it cause system instability?

I am currently running service pack 1, if you need any system info reply to this.

It is taking up around 2.35 GB so it is obviously crucial to save space etc.

Did you create an entirely new installation of Windows in that folder? Or are the files divided up between the two folders?

Theres the same stuff in both,

but the one i use, WINDOWS2 is bigger - 3.2GB

WINDOWS seems to me that it is just flooding my HD :4-thatsba:4-thatsba:4-thatsba

Oh - and also, if i switch my boot to WINDOWS, it comes up with the blue screen asking me to install Windows

make sure which one is being used. You can find that by doing this:
Start> Run then type "%windir%" without the quotes and the one that comes up is the one in use. and once you find the one in use, you can then delete the one that isnt

ok, you're sure i can delete it

it comes up as C:\WINDOWS2

but after i delete my original one is there a way to rename WINDOWS2 to WINDOWS?

yeah, you can rename it after you delete the other one, just be careful not to "accidentally" delete the one in use.
