Pretty sure McAfee came preinstalled onto my computer because I never downloaded it consciously. No option to delete yahoo from my search engine options and no option to select a different search engine. Please help!

What browser are you using? (ie) Chrome, Edge, Firefox?

This is an Extension installed on your browser.
In your Browser if you go to the 3 dots or lines at the top right (Settings) then select Extensions
You can Remove or Disable McAfee Secure Search.

You can also download the McAfee Clean Uninstall Tool to remove all McAfee on your system.
Choose Option #2 download MCPR Tool

If you're still unable to remove McAfee secure search, please do the following to run a scan with FRST, and we should be able to see what the problem is ....

Download FRST64 to your Desktop.

  • Double click Frst64.exe to launch it.
  • FRSTwill start to run.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press the Scan button.
    • When finished scanning 2 logs will open on your Desktop, FRST.txt and Addition.txt
    • Please post them in your next reply.
