how do i permanently deletel tasks/programs from the start-up tray, ie, the programs that start-up automatically when xp starts-up, lower right, bottom of screen ? thanks

one way is to go to run type in msconfig and on the startup tap you can choose what starts up.

The best way is to start the program, go into Preferences/Options and uncheck Start with Windows or Autostart. If you can't find that in the program then follow oscer1's suggestion.
