Transferring to a new computer

701 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  linderman
My old PC is fried, for various reasons, and now that I have a new one I want to try to save some of the files from my old one onto the new one.

My question is simply this -- how can I get my old pc's hard drive to hook up to my new PC to transfer the files?

The easiest thing to do is put the old drive into the new machine, then jut move the files you want to your new drive. In fact, if the old hard drive is still good, after you transfer the data, reformat it and use it for storage in the new machine. If that's not an option, do you have a USB flash drive? That's an easy way to transfer files, provided you aren't wanting to transfer gigabyte after gigabyte of data.
