Just recently ordered a new geforce 6800, but it wasn't working very well.. i was getting 25 fps on ut2004. People were telling me it was my intel mobo's fault since it was old and the 4x was restricting my bandwidth, so i went ahead and ordered a new asus p4p800-x. I'd like to have everything figured out before it arrives, so... When transfering a socket 478 2ghz p4, i know you have to remove the heat sink and fan. So when i get the motherboard, does this mean i will need NEW thermal interface material or thermal gel? I currently have neither so this will be a setback. I'm pretty sure it has the thermal interface on it right onw, and intel recommends a replacement. Where can i get this material? Should i just order some thermal gel instead and rip off the thermal interface material? I've done work on computers for sometime, but never had to mess with the motherboard and processor until now.

thanks

Went ahead and ordered some thermal gel from tigerdirect since i had already ordered my mobo from them. I think their warehouse is located in illinois, so i should get it quicker. Newegg takes around a week to get here with fedex express saver... so i hope i made the better choice. Thanks for the help.
