Following a power supply failure, I was able use "TestDisk" to reaccess the files on my HDD but now all my music is found in files in "My Documents". How can I get them back to ITunes/Windows Media Player libraries?

Hi and welcome to TSF.
In iTunes, select File>Add Folder to Libray In the dialogue box select the folder where your music now is and press OK.

Yeah, then in iTunes, go into Edit>Preferences and then go into the tab where you get to pick your 'iTunes Music Folder' select the folder of your choice, make sure the 'Copy files to my iTunes music folder when adding to library' check box is checked and then select 'Apply' or 'OK' and go back into your library and click 'Advanced' and clikc 'Consolidate Library' this will add all your songs to your iTunes music folder.
