- hey guys i tried to tracert google but there was an error "request time out" what does this mean. the unit i used to tracert google is under a linux configured with squid proxy and this linux is under a linksys broadband router.

It means it had problems connecting. I can do a tracert to google.com from here with no problems.

Did you try with a PC connected directly to the router?

- i tried what you suggested and i think there is a problem with our linksys broadband router. i have observed that when i use the tracert command our routers power restarts. i connected 2 computers and same problem and a "hardware error" even showed in one of the testing units i used. i disconnected our router and configure our DSL connection to our linux. by that time i can now tracert google.thanks for the info:pray:
