My laptop sometimes freezes right after i turn the power on and i don't know the reason for this. It freezes in the moment when loading the BIOS screen. Then i have to turn off the power and disconnect the power cable and wait 10-15 minutes. After this it loads normally.

My boot order is to boot first from cd drive and then from hard disk. When this freezing happen it can't even boot the Hiren's BootCD. I can hear how the cd drive is turning but nothing more happens. That is way i think it is a problem with the bios not with the hard disk.

Is there any way to test if the bios is functioning properly? I don't know if this occasional freezing are not symptoms of a future bigger failure.

I will try this tests. I already tested the hard disk with SpinRite which is suppose the best program for diagnostic and repair of hard drives and it didn't find errors. That's why i think if the problem is not in the hard disk it should be the BIOS.

I ran the Memtest86+ and it didn't show errors. I guess the RAM memory is ok.
By the way, how long time i have to run the test? When it reached 100% it did show something like "No errors found, press ESC to exit" and i stopped it.

There are two "pass" sectors. Which one i should look?

If the bios is corrupt do i have to replace the whole motherboard, because if i have to replace the motherboard i better buy a new laptop.
