I have a issue with my laptop if some one can help me it would be appreciated. the laptop starts and loads up fine when on home screen lasts for about 3 min the the screen flashes from purple to background screen with no icons on. I tried to boot from cd drive but i cant as it wont let me into boot mode it just says contact your manufacturer. I know that toshiba will just sell me the recovery cd but if i cant get into to change to boot from cd drive how am i going to use it? this came about when i upgraded from windows 8 to windows 8.1

can anyone give me some idea please? :angry:

What model is your Toshiba laptop (full model e.g Satellite C55)? Can you access BIOS setup?

Yes Ican get in BIOS but not the change boot option.

Toshiba satellite C55t-A-10k that's the full model number

What exactly happens? Are the boot options inactive/greyed out? The laptop's manual doesn't say much about BIOS setup. Does it request you to choose a user with which to access BIOS? If you log into BIOS with a non-administrator user account, certain settings may be inaccessible.
