I've bought a USB audio stick for the above laptop because the headphone jack has disappeared inside the laptop. I had a look and, if i'm right, the jack is protected by the motherboard. Now i can take laptops apart, replace screens and keyboards but i've never touched a motherboard.

So i test this stick on a B&O laptop and it immediately disables the built-in speakers and sound only comes through the USB headphones / speakers.

However, on the Toshiba i have to select the USB in Properties and set it as default....but the sound is terrible.

Any help greatly appreciated

Further to this, i saw an event which said " device not migrated ".

Do a sound test and the pings come through loud and clear but listening to music, bass and vocal levels are miles off.
