Toshiba Satellite A205 Unbootable

I Am working on Toshiba Satellite A205 S5804 that is not even booting up except to a black screen. I allowed Vista to repair itself which it could not do. Previous I got a BSOD. I have no system restore or recovery disks. The Toshiba System Volume (partition 1) of 2 starts at cyl 0, head 32, Sector 33. I do not think the partition should be starting out that far and that is my problem. Partition 2, both NTFS, starts directly thereafter. I ran spybot and and 2 AV's and no results. This was not my computer. Is my only option to fork over the $24.95 to Toshiba for recovery disks since in my opinion and that of Toshiba the System volume is damaged without repair-ability or do I have others? Can I find a free down-loadable Toshiba System Volume equivalent?
Many Thanks

Get the recovery disks, as far as I know there is not any alternative. Especially as the disks are customised per model.
Yea, I did finally come up with that assumption. It turns out my sister has the disks, 1800 miles away. Thanks
