Hello to all,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135 that i have been having troubles with for quite some time now. When you press the power button on the unit, all lights come on power, hdd, etc but there is no video at all. Initially i tried reseating the RAM just to make sure that it hasnt been bumped and knocked ajar, but that didnt seem to resolve the issue either. I have also attempted to connect the laptop to a spare LCD monitor that i have at home and the same issue remains. No Video, at this point im almost inclined to think that the video card has been fried on this lappy but my main question i would guess is would it be more cost effective to replace the entire motherboard or have someone replace the onboard video? If any one has any additional steps that i may have missed by all means please post them up :) Thanks in advance,

TD

Thanks Trigger Finger,

I went ahead and reconnected it to the monitor again and same issue remains even pressing Fn+F7 etc. I opened her up and checked all connections everything seems to be connected properly. Im wondering if it would be worth my time to swap out the RAM in it to see if maybe thats faulty. Any other suggestions im all ears, ive had nothing but problems with this lappy since i purchased it :(

i was hoping you have a working spare (the RAM module i mean). i would not advise you to buy a new one since the issue could be your video card. another way is remove the RAM totally. I believe Toshiba lappies have another RAM just beneath the keyboard. Remove all RAM modules and power it up. obviously it would not boot up successfully but the objective here is just to see if it gives you something on the screen or not.
