The story I got is this - dog chewed thru dc side of adapter, thus rendering it unusable. GF ran computer until batterty died. Bought GF a new OEM adapter. Plugged in and nothing works. No lights no sounds no nothing. Checked adaper with meter and it shows the correct dc voltage of 19

Did a search here and tried all the reboot - soft boot - battery in, battery out, ram in, ram out tricks and nothing seems to work. The plug on the new adapter can be wiggled from side to side slightly when plugged into the laptop.

Is there a way to check if the dc socket is bad on the computer?

Would appreciate any advice on the subject..................
