Hi All!!!

Returning again for more RAM upgrade probs.

I have just recently acquired 2 x Samsung 1GB 533MHz DDR2 RAM modules to upgrade my Toshiba A100-259. However, with both RAM modules in place, laptop will not boot up. Instead it powers up for a few seconds and then turns off, and repeats this process about 7 - 8 times until it just switches off.

If I leave one of the 1GB RAMs in the laptop and replace the other with one of the original 512MB modules, then laptop will boot up and work fine. Laptop also recognises the increase in RAM saying that there is 1.37GB available, this proves that both RAM slots work fine. I can also change the 1GB RAMs around with the same results, proving that the 1GB modules work fine in the laptop with one of the original 512mb RAM, just not the 1GB RAMs together.

Any ideas why laptop won't boot up with new 2GB (1GB x 2) of RAM would be greatly appreciated, and any help to get it working properly would be awesome too.

Many thanks.
