I'm having a problem reviving my Toshiba Satelite M35X-S114. I can't get it to boot to last good configuration or in safe mode. I don't have the recovery disk (daughter lost it) and I'm attempting to completely reformat the HDD and reinstall WinXP. I boot from the XP disk and repartition the hard drive OK, but when it attempts to reformat the drive it just hangs up. I need to know how to tell if this is a proprietary Toshiba software issue blocking me or if the hard drive needs to be replaced. Please help.
