Toshiba Laptop Will not turn on?

9894 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  joesbiti
I have a Toshiba Satellite U405D-S2902 and it simply will not turn on.

When I press the power button, the battery light flashes orange. When I plug in the power cord (AC Adapter? I'm not sure what it's called), no light turns on.

I don't know how it happened. I was browsing the internet (Google, nothing harmful) on the laptop with the power cord plugged in. I closed the laptop and left for a few minutes. Then I came back and tried turning on the laptop but it didn't work.

SOLUTIONS I'VE TRIED:
- Taking out the battery and disconnecting the power cord and holding the power button for 30+ seconds, then placing battery back in and plugging in power.
- Cooling it down. I left the laptop to itself all night, and it was freezing in my house.

Thank you for any help I can get. My parents are really mad that I broke their laptop so I'm trying to get it fixed right away :X.

Hi JayNeedsHelp and welcome to TSF

Give this a try, I know you have done the reset bit but follow this exactly.

• Remove the battery and AC cord.

• Remove the bottom access cover/covers of your laptop.

• Remove and reseat your RAM modules.

• Replace your covers.

• Hold down your power button for 1 minute (Battery and AC still disconnected).

• Replace your AC power (not battery) and turn the computer on.

This is called a hard reset. If it works COOL, then replace your battery. Problem resolved.
