Yesterday, my laptop was working fine.

This morning, I find my laptop with a blue screen with error messages. This was not the usual blue screen of death that everyone is so familiar with.

Now when I try to boot, the power LED light does come on, but the computer does not boot.

Any suggestions?

Removed and reinserted and nothing. Could it be that the memory is bad, since the screen says black?

My friends think its a hard drive, but if it was the hard drive it would still at least attempt to boot.

You can try and remove the HDD to see if the laptop powers on when removed. How many memory panels do you have in the laptop? Try each of them individually in each of the slots.
