anyone on the forum know of a place where i can get details of how to modify a laptop panel cable.

I have an old ( busted) toshiba satalite pro 440cdx with a working panel. thought it would make a nice flat screen ( for free) but i need to know if its possible to be able to conect it with a normal RGB d type to enable me to plug it into a spare PC.

It has 2 multiplugs one is about 20 pins the other about 8 i assume one is power the other is signal, although there are only 9 on a normal monitor lead...

not knowing much about this i wonder if anyone else has come accros this before, or should i just bin the lot

any help welcome

Since the controller for the FP in a laptop is a special interface, my advice is to just buy a FP monitor if you want one. :) I think you're on a hopeless mission making that panel work with a standard SVGA output.
