Hi there, i m using Toshiba Satellite M30 and seems the hdd is dead, so i want to replace it with a new one. Anyone can tell me something about replacing hdd in my laptop? like is it very hard to do or wat? i have to do it myself probably coz the warranty expired

and btw, i only have the recovery discs and no window XP discs, and i could use the recovery discs to reinstall windows and the hdd was cleared after reinstallation. so i can still use the recovery discs to install wndows and drivers in the brand new hdd?

thx a lot for ur help

Hi, its easy to remove hdd from toshiba m30x. Just remove the screw from the bottom side and nicely slide away. The hdd is at the same side with the dvd-ram. After, you can conect with propiate cabel to other PC or put into another toshiba lap top

Hi and welcome to TSF. Toshiba's recovery CDs work with any hard drive, if space permits. They're only locked based on the CPUID and/or BIOS EEPROM. In other words, you're good to go when you replace your hard drive.
