TNT2 series problem

2681 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  JoNoMaN
Hello guys! Im new in the forum. Im currently trying to play splinter cell but if found out that my PC configuration isn't supported by the game. I understand that i have to upgrade my PC to 256MB and install directX8.1b. Im using Nvidia TNT2 series and im wondring if it supports dx8.1b. Should i just buy a new video card or is there any way where i can like still use the same card and install 8.1b? would it work? Please help. Im no computer axpert and dunno how to handle things.

Mannigann, welcome to the forums...
what exactly happens when you try to play the game ? Im sure that TNT2 will support that version of direct x. I have a generic Pine card and directx 8.0 and it works without a glitch. Which version of directx you have now ? ...how much memory do you have right now ?
after i put the player cd, a message appears saying i have to insert the right cd. ive also tried to install the game in full mode so i wouldnt have to use the player cd but the same message appears. i have 128MB RAM and have directx9 installed from the cd. got to upgrade to 256 and theres no problem with that the only problem is that im not sure if i have to buy another video card that supports dx9 thats why im asking if the TNT2 series would work. Probably id first upgrade to 256 and try if it works. if it doesnt, then there must be a problem with my video card. thanks!
hmm

my super old 8 meg sis 6236 supports dx 9 so i dont see why anything wouldnt. as far as your card goes, i think it should run dx9 just perfectly.

just my own opinion

TNT 2

Yeah, my old video card was a nVidia RIVA TNT 2, and that supported DirectX 9. You should be having no troubles with that.

P.S.> Bob has a really, really cool avatar.
it does not support DX9. The NVidia drivers support DX9.

IE: the NVIdia drivers (Dx9 compatable ones) will allow it to work with basic DX7 API calls (although the functions are improved, they're still backwards compatable with older-style cards - cause the drivers)

looks like to me it is a pirated cd...
did u get it from a shop legitimately?
or did a friend give it to you
I have a feeling its likely to be a copied CD where the publisher of the game did not receive any profit.
I recommend u destroy that CD before federal ppl get on to u lol

to find out: look inside the CD directory and look for a "crack" or "patch" folder. If there is one of those: u r in trouble.
if not, I dunno what's wrong, lol
