TITAN DDR + LanParty NF4

948 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  federicog
My mobo is a LanParty NF4 UltraD. I just bought two 1gb Titan DDR400 modules. I installed them and the computer boots, but it freezes after a few minutes. I ran memtest and it reported many errors.

Are the modules faulty or is it possible that they need to be manually configured in the bios? I was using two ocz modules that only worked ok when manually set up. If that's the case, where can I find the correct values for the titan modules?

The computer works ok with the ocz modules, I removed them to check the new modules.

Thanks!!

If MemTest showed errors then I would assume the RAM is faulty. I've never known Memtest to produce faulty results.
Thanks, I tried several configs and memtest always reported errors, so I will be returning them tomorrow for a replacement.
You need to install quality ram with that board, such as corsair xms.
Yeah, I know, but right now it's a little hard to find a great variety in ddr where I live (most places sell ddr2 and 3).
I just replaced both titan modules and everything is working just fine. Memtest threw no errors and no freezes. Also, I could boot the pc with all four modules plugged in, so it seems that all the problems were due to the faulty titan modules.
