Thinkpad G40 boots only to C drive. A bootable CD does not boot, it goes directly to the C drive. Thinkpad does read off of CD's making me believe the cd/dvd drive is OK. Please don't tell me I have a motherboard issue! But I'm thinking boot rom.
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I can't even get into bios. I hold down the ACCESS IBM button as you normally would and it just goes right to the c drive. I've tried removing the battery. I don't know what else to do to get into bios or get it to boot a cd. Please suggest something else if you would.Go into BIOS, change the Boot Order setting to 'CD First', hit F10 to save settings and exit.
