This thread is open to anyone who would like constructive input on design work, a website, a résumé, or anything else you'd like some help with. Don't hesitate to post, there are plenty of capable hands here that are more than happy to share their time and experience.

Ok, let me rephrase that. This is an open opportunity to say all of the horrible things about me and my work that you've been wanting to say.... as long as it gets some movement in here.

Hi Six,

How about something like this..

http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/gallery.html

or

http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/scroll_gallery.html

..where you can incorporate all your static info in the opening pane. You can then run your links across the top of the page linearly, but save the space where the logo would have been. That should save 80-100px in height.

This is the tutorial for building the gallery..

http://www.webreference.com/programming/css_gallery/index.html

..if you decide to go that way. It utilises the :hover attribute in css1 onwards, so just about every browser currently used will understand it. Or stick to the java, and just add a default first pane.

I like the layout from the first link, but the second one is nigh on identical to the effect you are looking to acheive. The other benefit is that on removal of the mouse it defaults back to the original pane, and your logo. There is nothing to stop you from image mapping all your links in that image either, which would keep it compacted further still.

Cheers

Liam

You know what SixShooter? I don't think there's a whole lot you could do to make that site better. It's blessedly simple, and has tons of content. I like how there's a mouseover description of each of your works (which are excellent, by the way).

Hehe, not my works. Just a client. Thank you for all of the input guys, I got some good news today. He just decided we weren't going to worry about fitting this all in an 800x600 resolution. His email: Casey, **** those old-computer toting dial-up losers. Lets make it big. He was just kidding of course, but it made my day.

Anyway, I've got a new one that I could actually use alot of input on, because it's for all of you. Been working on a TSF skin (the idea to do so has been around in the mentors section for a while). I included this here for anyone that doesn't have access to that section. Here's what I threw together tonight:

Thanks for all of your time.

P.S. don't mind the god-awful coding, It's just cosmetic

Nice Layout.

Only thing I would suggest is for the text links to be more visible against the blue. Whether that be bolder or another colour is your choice.

As for the rest, nice use of Alpha on the image of your Creative Arts Signature.

Oh and the dropdowns don't work

Overall, looks like a good change

Thanks Grove. I didn't add the drop-downs in yet, it's just cosmetic. You're right about he black text. The blue background behind it is way too saturated anyway, and I've been planning on changing it, so once that's lighter things will be alittle more legible.

Being away from the PowerMac all week, I'm close to helpless. Would anyone mind letting me know if anything catastrophic happens to this on safari?
