I don't know if this is an addon or part of AutoCAD...

thanks for the link. It is actually an add-on. But for some reason it doesn't seem to be changing the text to an attribute. I think I actually may need a utility to convert text to a block. I'm using another utility (attribute extractor) to extract blocks from a .dwg file. And in some of the drawings, I have text that I would like to extract. But since it is text, the extractor program doesn't recognize it. Any ideas as to how I can get text to be converted to a block name that is recognized by AutoDWG Attribute Extractor(like _ABOD16 or _ABIHD, etc..etc..)

Sorry, no idea. One of the moderators here is called 40sondacurb... he's our resident autocad expert, I'm sure he'll know how to do it.
