Hope this is the right place for this post.
My cousin has a computer that is making trouble. Sometimes when you're typing there is a delay of 20 seconds or more before the letters come on the screen. For a fast typer it's really bad, sometimes it takes so long you can almost type a whole paragraph before it appears. And it only seems to do it in Internet Explorer, as far as I can tell. Possibly Firefox, too. Doesn't do it in a word processor. Any ideas?
Here's the computer specs:
Pentium 4 2.4 GHz (or right around there) processor

512MB RAM
30GB HD plenty of free space
Windows XP SP2 all latest updates
Keyboard is a nice Logitech (wired)

Oh, and the computer has AVG, Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware. None of those programs bring up any malware.

Hi kbalona!
What version of IE is your causin using? Try re-installing it/upgrade it.
Try it in a different browser.

Its the latest, IE 7. Different browser might work for temporary, but I need to get IE working. The computer has Norton Systemworks.

This is usually when an update is broken or corrupt. The first option would be to uninstall IE and reinstall it. If its only IE bound, then yes that seems most definite as the problem. As far as Norton goes, anything can happen.
