I am having an issue with having users connecting to the terminal server that I have configured. The server is running Windows Server 2003 Standard R2. I have 15 count user licenses installed on our license server (which is separate from our terminal server, it is actually our DC).

I can have 6 simultaneous connections to the Terminal server and that is it. As soon as the 7th person trys to connect they get an error message saying that they computer is unreachable. Now when one of the users disconnects, then another person can access the server.

Any ideas on why I am only able to get 6 users connected to the server? I can't find a solution anywhere.

Thank you.

Are the licenses set up per device or per user? Are they Terminal server licenses?Definately sounds like a licensing issue W2k3 generally will allow 1 use over the installed amount hence 6 alright 7 no go if it can only detect the originally 5 installed licenses that come standard. I would re look at your licensing it may be something simple you have missed
