Is your system new - or have you recently installed hardware that draws power from the PSU?

I had this problem when I upgraded from a K6 500 system to a 1 gig Athlon ages ago. It was caused by the 250V PSU not being powerful enough - i upgraded to a 300V PSU and that solved the problem

yah it is a new system..and i have not installed any hardware recently...

i'm currently using NAV pro edition
no firewall....recently downloaded ad-adware and did a scan and
deleted all files infected. but after that, whenever i start up my pc
i will get a error message

00000585.exe-unable to locate component
this application has failed to start because EGNSEngine.dll was not found. re-installing this application may fix this problem.

did anything went wrong with the scan or impt files was deleted?

please help and pardon cos i'm quite a newbie.......

I can think of three things:

1) there is heat buildup in the case, or the processor is getting tooo hot.

2) bad power supply

3) You need to get a firewall!!!

Well, looks like Adaware found something and deleted it, but since that something most likely was imbeded into your registry, Windows will now look to start the program when you boot.

One solution would be for you to do START, RUN and then type in MSCONFIG. Once in the Configuartion tool, click on the STARTUP tab. You should probably look for software that's being run during startup that should not be and uncheck them. You can use the list of startup programs on this page to help you weed out the good startup programs from the bad:

ZoneAlarm is the best FREEWARE firewall you can find actually. If you're more into a Hardware Firewall, then you may want to look into getting yourself a NAT Router.
