Hi. Like an idiot i set up a system password. I was trying to do something I didn't know how to do. This happens a lot:sigh:.
The issue is that when it prompts for the password (before you can get to any set up or anything) it won't allow me to enter anything in.
I know the keyboard functions fine. When I F12 or F2 it starts to go into the set up and then prompts me for the password. Yes I do know the password.
What gives. How can I get past this?

wired up already. I know the board works cause I'm using it right now on another system.

It allowed me to enter the password before but now it won't. I am not sure what transpired here.

Also if I need to hit F12 or F2 or F8 it will let me and start in that direction until it stops for the password.

(As a side note, for all moderators, he knows his password but the keyboard won't let him enter anything so we are not trying to get a password :smile

Try resetting your CMOS to get rid of this screen. This will for sure, remove the system password screen. Also have you tried it with another keyboard?
