Sygate has been acquired by Symantec Corporation. Sygate is longer available, however the older version might be.

As far as I know, SPF isn't updated anymore, so does this mean that newly created 'viruses' or 'hacks' will easily be able to pass by the firewall completely? I'm concerned a bit about this I guess...
And is SPF a recommended firewall? Well, I know it is - I've seen some topics here that say so - but is it now outdated or unsafe? Is it still being used by many even though it's not being updated anymore?

Yes, however, there are no new versions of sygate
all this does is detect internet activity and allows you to block or allow that program the activity, it is not an antivirus, or spyware tool, just a firewall, thats it, and i use it along with panda antivirus and run regular scans for spyware and such,
I know all this, but I asked about how safe Sygate is because there are no new versions of it, and maybe this means newer biruses or hacks could easily bypass its outdated routines, or whatever.
