Hi! I have a Arris DG1670S Data Gateway, which is my primary network at home. Plugged into this gateway is a NAS drive (Buffalo Linkstation LS-WVL) and a second router (Linksys E1000), which is running DD-WRT and has been configured with OpenVPN to allow me to access my work network back in the UK. The NAS drive is used by the rest of the family for photos, music, etc. but I also store work files there. When I am connected to the Linksys E1000 and using the VPN service I would also like to be able to see the NAS Drive that is attached to the Arris Gateway. Any ideas how I can achieve this? I have not set up any static IP's or altered the firewalls, all of which I suspect may need to be done in order to achieve what I want.

Thanks in advance,

Chuffy2

shouldn't you just be able to access the HDD using the same method as if you were home on the network? Via \\name or IP etc as you are connected to the VPN and would give you a local IP address.

The VPN client that I've used, sent all traffic out the VPN. So any attempt to reach a local device will not work (which appears to be the case here as well). Check the config options of the VPN, there may be a way to seperate local LAN traffic from the traffic meant to cross the VPN.

I've not done it, just wanted to point out that it's likely not a network configuration issue, but how the VPN software works by default.
