hey! first post.
i just bought a new PC
AMD 3500+ 939
6600GT pci-e
200 gig SATA drive <----DMA is enabled in bios
1 gig ram
Nforce4 MSI K8N SLI mobo
the problem i am having is this, any AVI (Weather it be divx or whatever), and mp3 i play on my computer has weird split second pauses or stuters through it. It doesn't do it 100% of the time. About once or twice every 5 minutes.
I am running Win Pro x64, but i have the latest x64 nforce drivers for all hardware. When i upgraded, i originally bought a Gigabyte nforce4 board (basically the equivalent of what i have now) and it was doing the exact same thing, thats why i swapped it for the MSI!
So i'm leaning toward it being a software issue. I've tried different codec packs (not that they should effect mp3 playback)
I've tried different ram.
I've scoured the net for ppl having the same problem, there is ppl having similar problems but no one having an identical problem.
I'm pretty sure the same prob was happening in windows 32 bit when i had it on aswell but i'm not 100% on that.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated. really want to get this thing figured out as i'm really keen on music, and there's nothing worse than having a favourite song stutter on you!
if theres any more info you may need from me, plz ask.
thanks guys
