I was trying to set up a static ip, and i think i screwed it up. i tried going into network settings and switching it back, but I can't get on the internet still. I don't know what to do, so I posted this from another Pc. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can get the internet back?

go to start , type cmd and press enter ,

type ipconfig /all into cmd

copy and paste the results here ,

go to the network settings , and set your ip to obtain ip address automatically , same with the dns , see if it works ?

does your router have dhcp enabled?

Since the computer cannot access the internet, I cannot access this site, so I couldn't copy and paste from cmd. But, here is a main chunk,
Wireless LAN adapter Wireless network connection:
Dhcp...enabled
Auto-config....enabled
Autoconfig ipv4
Autoconfig ipv6
Subnet mask
Default gateway..blank

I have already switched ip and dns to obtain automatically, but no results. Hope this helps the situation.

press the window key between ctrl and alt on your keyboard,

start typing the letter cmd and press enter

you should get a black window named cmd or command prompt,

that is where you type in ipconfig /all

after it displays all the stats ,

highlight the whole report by using left click-and-drag ,

after highlighting the report , right click and select copy

then paste it on notepad , save it on a usb pen drive then transfer it to the

pc you are on right now ,

then paste the contents of the notepad here.

all of those steps does not require you to have internet connection.

what is the model and brand of your router ?

or a router modem?

we might need to configure your DG to get in up and running again, you might need a cable though ,wireless doesn't seem to work for you at the moment.

appears to me you turned off the routers dhcp server.

you have two choices
1. assign yourself a static ip in the routers lan subnet so you can then access the router again [you would need to know the gateway entry by heart]

2. reset the router to factory and you can then access/configure.

On the routers home page, it says that that pc has a static ip already.

So how did you get access to the router again?

I assumed from your first post you were trying to give your pc a static ip. You can't just assign yourself a public static ip without your isp's permission.

Did you buy a package from the isp that provides a static ip?

I didn't buy anything. I was trying to get a static ip, by following a web tutorial. I needed it for something, and looked it up. It was on portforward.com

00-1F-E1-09-8A-41 which is to your wifi nic

and not this

00-1E-68-63-E1-65 which is your wired nic
