I am having problems with my personal computer (see my sys info on profile). It locked up while playing WOW (World of Warcraft for those who don't know) the other night. It did it twice and I rebooted, no prob. The next day I was going to troubleshoot it when it locked up while just browsing online. I ran Ad-aware (paid vers.) and found nothing serious. I rebooted, and now I can not get any video and all lights and fans work fine. My first thought was video card. changed it out with another that I new was good.
Still nothing. The board has monitoring software to alert me with any CPU problems, temp/volt. an alarm that you cannot miss comes on an I have not received any. I did not get the opportunity to run McAfee to check for virus, I stay on top of protection so I don't feel it is a virus but, possibility.
I cannot get into sys at all. All parts in it are less than 2 yrs old and decent quality, not top of line but not cheap either.
I stripped the sys down to just HDD, video, CD, and Floppy, in order to rule out and add-on components, ie. extra case/memory fans, video capture card, sound card, to see if power supply was overloaded.
Sometimes I can get the screen to come up with bios logo screen other times just blank. The monitor does not show video input.
I believe it is the motherboard. but not 100% sure. The Mobo has been replaced 2 times since I bought it 2 yrs ago. Each time it fixed previous problems.
I swapped out memory as well. I do not have the luxury of swapping CPU.
So any thing I have overlooked before contating RMA with Abit?

Your power supply may be dead, not overloaded.....take the mobo out of the case and run it on a piece of cardboard to isolate it from any potential shorts, then go through your various components and see what works....if it works fine out of the case check for any mobo standoffs that are incorrectly placed, if not then its probably time to rma again....I would expect a good quality psu of 450W+....read this http://www.techsupportforum.com/f70/outdated-power-supply-information-and-selection-107466.html

Well I thought of that but, the mobo has a bios code reader (LED) that comes, on the lights on mobo comes on, the case lights and fan comes on the cpu fan works. I do have an alt PS I can swap and see though. But it looks like I am getting power.
