Why do you think it is that which is required
Undervolting is a process which reduces the excess "voltage" given to the CPU using a software. This is widely used as a cooling solution and in my opinion more effective than any other cooling solution available (thermal paste, cooling pad, etc) at NO cost. Results can vary from 5c up to 30c drop in temperature, most will achieve an average of 10c.

Undervolting will NOT compromise performance at all.
So it is definitely worth considering.

Although I would do some research to see if the particular CPU undervolts well, by going through user experiences.

Call Of Duty:4

High Performance Battery plan: 8 Hours before it overheats (Sim that It was not a heavy overheat Just a bit...To make u understand : Looking down with the old overheat: 30 fps...Looking down now: 100 fps)

Balance Battery plan: 13 Hours Before It Overheats (Sim that It was not a heavy overheat Just a bit...To make u understand : Looking down with the old overheat: 30 fps...Looking down now: 100 fps)

Power saver Battery plan: Never

Seems good :) and Fps do not increase a lot from power saver to high perofrmance..Just a 5 fps
