Hello,

You know the lights on switch ports that flash when that port is recieving/transmitting data? Well, on my 24 port switch, about every 3-10 seconds, all the lights for all the ports will flash simultaneously - in total sync. Does anyone know what this could be indicating? A network collision? Some computer on the network spamming data? :4-dontkno

Thanks.

Our devices in the com room do the same thing here at the library I work at. I honestly don't know what it means but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

If a broadcast packet is received by the switch, it's sent out all the ports. This is pretty normal for most networks. I suspect you have something like a print server doing NETBEUI or NETBIOS broadcasts...
