Hi

For a while now there has been a strange folder appeared in my jump list...

The name is "癤㩤⼯㩄" in C:\Users\Shaun\Desktop (It doesn't actually appear on my desktop, but in the jump list)

System info: Dell Inspiron 580 - Intel Core i3 540 3.7GHz - 4GB RAM - 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

What I have done so far:

• Run a quick virus scan on Avast.
• Deleted the strange folder. (It reappears).
• Currently running a full virus scan on Avast and I shall post the result if anything is found.

Any help will be much appreciated...

Can you see it in your program files menu C:\Program Files If so, see if there is an .exe in there (don't double click it) right click on it and select 'Properties', then under the 'Details' tab it may give you some more information.
When did you first notice it? Have you downloaded anything recently that triggered it?
Have you tried running a Malwarebytes scan? (download the free version)
If you believe you are infected, you are best of creating a new thread in the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help section on this site.

I haven't found anything in Program Files and Malwarebytes didn't find anything ray:

Can you get any more info on it by right clicking on the folder and selecting properties (the same yellow folder that you show in the attached image).

Hi

It doesn't give any info except the file location, type and size...

Location is my desktop, type is 'File Folder' and the size is 0 bytes.
