I've encountered an issue which is related to using a program (asus ramcache) that converts RAM into cache to access frequently used data faster.

After a few hours it causes storport.sys driver latency to spike so sound starts to stutter horribly until i switch off the program. I can then switch it on again and use it for a couple of hours more until the issue appears again.

I've been wondering why exactly this keeps happening and whether there is a way to prevent this?

I recommend you leave the RAM as is and don't use a problem like that. Some servers may use this for better speeds, but the general PC user does not.

But it did actually work and loading times for Fallout 4 become nearly instantaneous.

I've got 32GB of ram so i wanted to make it useful. Just don't understand what's the issue with storport.sys and how it could be related to RAM and/or hard drive. It seems that the issue only appears when used with normal non SSD hard drive.
