And touchpad requires several punches--left and right-click--to get a response. New computer [bought in August] so just shaking my head at its performance. Thank you.
Thank you. Seemed like the settings were conflicting.
To move the cursor around and across the screen, I used to use the lower left corner of the touchpad then arch it left to right. But that movement is stuck. Can't get the arrow/cursor to move.
When I start at the top center of the pad, the cursor barely moves. It drags and requires 2 or 3 tries to move it across the screen/page.
But operating the cursor from the bottom-right corner of the pad is the freest of all, which seems counterintuitive to me.
Shouldn't any position on the touchpad work to move the cursor? Settings mainly provides me with speed of the cursor and sensitivity, the latter of which is currently on high.
What is the Make and Model # of the laptop?
See if this helps How to change Touchpad Sensitivity in Windows 11/10.
Modern Trackpads use the Left side as the Left click and the Right side as Right click for best results. Center click usually works as Left click, but you may find it is intermittent.
If you bought it brand new in August, it is still under warranty by the Manufacturer. They offer free support or you can send it back to the manufacturer for hardware replacement.

So there's the movement of the cursor, then there's the tapping. To click on anything--a button, link, close a page, anything--it requires pressing on both lower corners simultaneously to execute the function. Like I said, I've already got the cursor set to high sensitivity and I am still having these problems.
Corday, that is wild. Took a napkin, damped it a little, wiped the touchpad with a few swipes, and voila, the movement of the arrow/cursor is freed up. Amazing. Tapping/clicking too is responsive. Very nice. Thank you. Technical advice: water and napkin. Lol. Thank you.
