You may have the Rustok rootkit. Assuming that's the case, follow the instructions on this page. These instructions require a Windows XP CD, as you must boot into the Windows Recovery Console. Make sure to disable System Restore before starting, and re-enable it after finishing.

I have Windows Xp media running on my Dell computer. yesterday I did live update of Norton 360 Version3. Ever since I am unable to reboot my PC in normal mode, it gives an error like
STOP 0x0000008e
00000F8A - Address A9F3E8D3 base at A9F3E000, datestamp 49c97a84.
I am able to boot the PC in safe mode. Appreciate your help.
