Hello fellow techies,
Recently I turned on my computer and it would not boot up, It stopped at a screen that said this, "We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this." Then it gives me boot options, such as safe mode, last known good config...but all of them just reboot the system back to that screen and I get nowhere. Then i decided to try the recovery console, but that doesnt work, I get the bsod with the error message

***stop 0x00000024 (0x001902FA), (0xF89ADB70, 0XF89AD870, 0xF814B83D)

***ntfs.sys - address F814b3d base at f813a000, datestamp 3d6de5c1

Same blue screen of death when I try to format with the xp cd, at the screen where it says "to install windows xp now, press enter"...i press enter and BLUEEEE SCREEEEN! Can anyone help me out, i dont care what i have to do, i just want my baby back up and running!!!!!!!

Thanks,

XP & SATA cont...

idtent,
There was no sata driver disk needed for XP, bundled with my asus a7n8x mobo are the silicon image sata drivers and apps. This is all irrelevant though because everything was working fine and then suddenly it would not boot one day. All the microsoft windows sites just tell me to use recovery console and checkdisk and other things that require my to be in windows...Ive seen plenty other posts about this on various sites, SPIFF MEISTRO on techsupportforums had the same problem if you would like to see his posts to try and help me out. Thanks alot for all the cool techies who are tryin to help me.

Formatted...

Hey,

I tried everything to no avail to get back into windows with all my data. So in the end i had to format. To do this i had to use my windows 98 cd and go through the installation, then it says reboot your computer. Then I put the Xp cd in and was able to format without the BSOD!!!
