Hi.

I'm using a SSD and a HDD in my MacBookPro (mid 2012). By mistake i formatted the HDD.

Sorry if i'm missing something but i'm totally new to data recovery.

I downloaded Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery and tried all possible recovery modes. Only the Raw Recovery shows me all my data.
Problem: The file names are replaced trough numbers. On the their website it says 'Recovers all deleted files with their original file names'. How does this work? Am I missing some settings?

Is it possible the recover this formated HDD with the original file structure and the file names? Other software?

Thanks.

I don't know how to say it and still be diplomatic...Stellar makes lots of claims and sells tons of software. Sadly I have found them to be only good with making the claims.

For HFS+ file system recoveries, your best bet is to use DataRescue from ProSoft. But, that said, you are unlikely to get a very clean recovery of your files due to how HFS+ and SSD work.

I'd recommend you to use a startup version of a data recovery program. It's usually based on Linux without advanced SSD tricks like trim, and that makes chances for recovery with file names better. But taking into account the way an HFS+ disk is formatted, I wouldn't be much optimistic.

Edited: If your Mac uses a Fusion Drive, forget about my advice. You can't use Linux or Windows programs to work with them.
